Itinerary

Day 1Lima

Peru Ancestral Paths will welcome on your arrival to the capital City of Peru, Lima. We’ll transport you to your hotel. Rest for the day. The adventures in your Peru travel Itinerary will begin the next day, really early.

Day 2Paracas and Ica

The hotel pick up will be around 4:30 am. We’ll go to the touristic complex of Paracas. There we’ll have a boat ride. During the ride you will encounter sea lions, marine birds and more.

You’ll learn about the guano production that used to happen in the area. You’ll see geoglyphs and interesting rock formations.

On shore we’ll go to Paracas boulevard and a local craft market. From there we’ll travel to Ica.

In Ica we’ll visit a vineyard and taste wine and pisco. The Huacachina oasis will be our next stop.

In the Huacachina lake, you’ll be able to participate in some adventure sports. Sand Boarding or Buggy rides on the dunes are your options.

Finally we’ll go to Chincha for a cultural spectacle of Afro-Peruvian culture. The show is interactive. 

After the show, we’ll return to Ica. We’ll stay at a hotel in Ica.

Day 3Nazca Lines

In the morning you’ll have breakfast at you hotel. We’ll pick you up to take you to the Airdrome Maria Reich. The small plane flight time will depend on the weather and demand for the day. 

The 30 minute flight will show you all the important Nazca Lines. You will enjoy the adventures of the flight and the impressive view. 

After lunch time (on your own), we’ll return to Lima by Cruz del Sur transportation services. We’ll arrive at Lima by night, there a private transportation will be ready to take you to your hotel in Lima.

Day 4Flight to Cusco

Peru Ancestral paths will transport you for your flight from Lima to Cusco. In Cusco, our representative will receive you to take you to your hotel. 

At 1:30 pm. You’ll embark on a Cusco City Tour. Visit the Koricancha in the city center. 

You’ll visit all the archeological sites around the city. This sites are Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

This tour takes 4 hours, so you’ll have the late evening as free time.

Day 5Sacred Valley

Our tour to the Sacred Valley is a fundamental part of every Peru travel itinerary. We’ll pick you between 6 – 7 am. We’ll stop first at Chinchero to appreciate this colonial church and the textile demonstration. 

Then will visit the concentric agricultural terraces of Moray, and the Maras Salt Mines. We’ll stop at Urubamba for our buffet lunch. 

The final visit of the day will be at the Ollantaytambo archeological site. After our visit to the historical complex we’ll go to the train station.

The train ride to Aguas Calientes will take us across the sacred valley to the cloud forest. We’ll stay in a Hotel on Aguas Calientes.

Day 6Machu Picchu

The visit to Machu Picchu will begin with breakfast at the hotel. We’ll board a CONSETTUR bus to the Citadel.

A 2 hours comprehensive tour around Machu Picchu will be offered by our guide. Then you will have time to explore this amazon place. In your free time you can even climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain (previous booking with extra cost).

By midday we’ll be heading back to Aguas Calientes. We’ll catch the evening train back to Ollantaytambo. Then a bus to Cusco. 

Like in every step of the way. The drop out will be at your hotel.

Day 7Humantay Lake Tour

At 4:30 we’ll be picking you at your hotel. We’ll travel on our private bus for 2 hours until arriving at Mollepata. In Mollepata we’ll have breakfast in a local restaurant.

After an hour of bus travel, we’ll arrive at Soraypampa. Here a scenic 1 hour hike begins. We’ll arrive at Humantay Lake. 

Here you’ll have some exploration time. The views of this high altitude lake are incredible.

We’ll descend back to Soraypampa. On our way back to cusco we’ll stop at Mollepata for Lunch. After that we’ll be turning back to Cusco. We’ll arrive at Cusco approximately at 6:00 pm.

Day 8Rainbow Mountain

The pick up from the hotel will be at 4:00 am. We’ll travel on our private transport for 2 hours, until reaching Cusipata for breakfast in a local restaurant. Then we’ll continue on the road for one hour more.

Here we’ll begin our 4 km (2.49 miles) hike to the Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain. You’ll have impressive views of the Vilcanota Mountain range. Once in the summit you’ll explore and take pictures. 

Before the descent we’ll visit the Red Valley. This is an uncommon 30 minute detour to access to views of the impressive Red Valley.

Efter the descent. We’ll go to Cusipata for our lunch. Finally we’ll head to Cusco, arriving at your hotel at 5:00 pm.

Day 9Sun Route Tour

Today we’ll depart from Cusco for the last time in our journey. We’ll pick you up from the Cusco hotel at 6 am. This will be a 8 hours road trip with multiple stops, ending in the city of Puno.

On the road we’ll visit the Andahuaylillas Church, The inca Temple of Raqchi. Ones of the most stunning colonial churches in South America and a really peculiar inca structure. 

Lunch will be a buffet in Puno. After lunch we’ll cross La Raya Pass (4,438 m/14,560 ft). The Inca Aymara Museum will be the last stop before Puno.

 We’ll arrive at Puno by 5:00 pm. We’ll take you to your hotel so you can rest.

Day 10Uros Floating Island

We’ll pick you from your hotel in Puno. We’ll take care of the transport to Titicaca Lake. We’ll visit the Uros Floating islands. You’ll learn about the Uros people. 

Our next destination is Amantaní Island. Here you will have an experience of cultural exchange and a folkloric dinner. We’ll visit the temples of Pachamama and Pachatata. You’ll stay for the night in the house of a local family.

Day 11Taquile Islands.

After an energizing breakfast we’ll go on our way to Taquile Island. In this island you’ll discover the male weavers, their textile history and more. Lunch will be here with traditional food.

At 1:30 pm we’ll go back to Puno’s shores. At 4:00 pm you’ll be at your hotel in Puno.

Day 12Juliaca Airport Transfer

After Breakfast in the hotel, depending on your  departure hour. We’ll take you to the city of Juliaca Airport. The journey from Puno to Juliaca takes more than an hour, so we have to leave with time.
