The walk begins in Upis  Pampa. You’ll walk across secluded towns and villages. Nature here is unique. Our destiny is the town of Upis, where you will stay in our lodges.

You will be having lunch in the lodge area. After a good meal, we’ll explore Ausangate Lake. This is a 2 hour walk with scenic views of a high altitude lake.

At night we’ll do  some stargazing. The clear night will be magical even if it’s a little cold. And of course we’ll have dinner in the lodges. Finally, rest for the day.

Day 27 Lagunas (7 lakes)

For day two of this Ausangate trek, we’ll rise at 5:00 am. You will have a hot beverage service (coca tea or coffee) in your lodge before breakfast. We’ll make sure you have the most confort.

Today I will visit the circuit of the 7 lagunas. Each one has a unique color to them. Azul Qocha (Blue Lake) is the first one with a deep blue hue.

You Also will visit a red lagoon (Puca Qocha) and a green one (Q’omer Qocha). Other lakes include the Otorongo, Alqa Qocha, Orqo Otorongo and China Otorongo.

During the trek we will encounter andean birds, alpacas and llamas. With some luck in the early morning, we may see vizcachas. This day tour is about life in andean high altitude.

After 7 lagunas we will go to the Pacchanta community. Here we’ll have lunch. And after the meal prepared by our travel cook, we’ll visit thermal baths to relax. Here we’ll say goodbye to a big part of the staff, including the packing animals.

This is the end of our journey. From Here, our transport will pick us up, for the return back to Cusco. We’ll arrive there around 5:00 pm.

Peru Ancestral paths will accompany you to the fullest of your experience. We’ll make sure this Ausangate Mountain 2 days journey is the best experience we can offer. Enjoy this short Ausangate Trek with us.
